Why bird shock tape?
A shocking way to deter birds
Shock tape is one of the less invasive methods of keeping birds away from your home or commercial premises. It has a wide variety of uses, and for those who don't like the look of unsightly spikes or wires, it can be a great alternative to keep birds at bay.
As the tape is just 4cm wide, it is a perfect solution for ledges, window sills, beams pipes, and signs. Its flat transparent structure contains dual aluminium wires which carry the current. Hence it does not aesthetically detract from architecture. A perfect choice for home or commercial premises.
It works by sending a small electrical impulse which is something like static. The shock is minimal and does not hurt the birds. Instead, birds remember it as an unwelcoming place and a deterrent. Weatherproof and watertight, the system is durable and can withstand all sorts of weather conditions. Mains, solar, or battery can power bird shock tape, so it's incredibly versatile.
The tape fixes well to many different surfaces including tiles, steel, iron, PVC, aluminium, marble, wood, stone and plastic. The tape is self-adhesive, so there are no unsightly holes or screws. All our systems meet Australia's safety standards, so there is no danger to you or your family.

our bird bait service can help
Some are infestations are just too challenging to treat with simple bird deterrent solutions.
In some cases, bird pests may have been left undeterred for too long. In other instances, the infestation can be sudden and severe. The landscape or environmental factors may prevent deterrents from being fixed into place. There are a variety of reasons why bird pests continue to be a problem. So if deterrents are not a possibility, it's time to use bird bait.
Only approved users such as licensed pest management technicians should use bird bait in pest control. Hence we never recommend a DIY job for bird bait pest control.
Bird bait is often the last resort in pest control and is strictly regulated. Its use is prohibited for any birds not on the Australian pest list. Hence great care must be taken when handling and placing it to ensure that it is both safe and effective.

Our 3 Step
Bird Proofing Action Plan
So how do we work out if bird shock tape is the right solution for you?
We have a three-point plan which puts you at the center of a customised solution to your bird pest problem.
Bird proofing Step 1
Investigate & Report
The first thing we do is to establish possible causes for the infestation such as structural and environmental factors. For example, is there a food source close by which is attracting the bird pests?
Along with this, we look for evidence of nesting and pecking sites. It helps to determine what damage has already occurred and how best to treat it. Often the damage is not visible from the ground.
Bird proofing Step 2
Implement Solutions
Next, we design a tailored plan for your bird pest problem. Bird pests often congregate on rooftops and ledges. These provide excellent vantage points for sighting food sources and nesting places. Hence although bird shock tape is simple to fix, climbing roofs and ledges presents a health and safety risk for most people.
Our experienced and IRATA certified experts have all the right tools for safe working, such as cherry pickers and boom lifts. They are fully trained and insured for working at heights and always compliant with health and safety regulations.
As bird droppings and nesting materials are a danger to health, we use high-pressure tools to remove all bird debris from the area.
Bird proofing Step 3
Prevent Future Bird Problems
Finally, we provide you with a full report listing our recommendations from the initial inspection.
We will outline the action taken to remove the bird pests and clearance measures. The final report will also advise on maintaining the area and keeping it bird pest-free.

Pest birds aren't just annoying
they can be a serious health hazard
Certain birds can be a welcome addition to any garden as they help to get rid of pests. Melodic birdsong early in the morning can lighten our mood and put a spring in our step. However, when they start to congregate in large numbers, you have an infestation.
Why do birds become pests? It may be that food is scarce, so the birds flock to urban areas where food supplies are more readily available. There is often aggressive competition for food and suitable nesting places. In the struggle for survival, pest birds often drive out indigenous birds. Common Starlings, Feral Pigeons and Indian Myna birds are pests for this reason.
Birds carry many diseases, some of which are transmittable to humans. One such disease is Psittacosis. Inhalation of dust contaminated with feathers and droppings from infected birds is a common route.
Other diseases such as Campylobacter, Salmonellosis, Newcastle Disease and many more are zoonotic (transmittable to humans). Some of these can be life-threatening, especially for vulnerable or older people.
Secondary infections from pest birds
can do serious damage to your home or business
Secondary infestations often occur and are attracted to your home and business via the primary infestation – Birds. Invertebrates feed off the nesting materials and even the birds themselves. They pose a serious health problem to you and your family.
If the premises are your place of business, you need to get rid of primary and secondary infestations fast. You can face legal action if employees or visitors get sick due to uncontrolled infestation.
Secondary infestations are particularly difficult since it’s not always easy to detect them. As they are smaller than birds, they can, and will move further inside. Once they are inside the building, they can go literally anywhere.
If this happens, you really can't afford to wait. It's time to call in the experts.
